Trainings and Services

We take our charge to build with, not for seriously. That means, we’re not just here to help you with inclusion. We’re here to help you dismantle patterns of exclusion. We’ve learned from where traditional diversity trainings, inclusion programs, and worker advocacy interventions fail to shift power (both within teams, and between institutions and communities), and we’ve tailored our services to respond.

Whether you’re looking to align your team’s practices with your values, better integrate social justice frameworks into your practice, and/or level up your community engagement, we’ve got your back.

Check our our current educational and consulting offerings below. Not finding what you’re looking for? We excel at custom programming. Let’s talk about what you need.

Build with training

Level up your community work with our signature training.

This introduction to power-aware community engagement is designed to boost your outreach skills and increase collective ownership and participation in your communal work. Together, we’ll explore the principles and practices of effective short- and long-term organizing and engagement, and we’ll apply them to a real-world initiative of your choosing. Whether you’re pre-launch on a new community program, or seeking to revive or address major diversity issues within an existing initiative, this workshop is for you.

Build With Trainings are available as 90 minute, 3hr, or half-day workshops, or as a multi-day bootcamp. Rate set on a sliding scale depending on length, organizational budget, number of attendees, and the complexity of your needs.

Want to go further? We offer Build With consulting, too.

Past clients include: Code for America, The Center for Government Excellence, What Works Cities, New York City’s Open Data Coordinator Program

The revolution begins in our relationships. To make high impact changes in the communities we serve, we first need to make sure that we practice what we preach internally, on our teams and in our operations. Build With specializes at collective processes to articulate and realign your intentions with your impact. Let us facilitate your next staff or board retreat — or bring us onboard to support you in a longer and more thorough engagement — and we’ll help you better integrate your vision into your strategic and daily operations, co-design accountability processes to keep you on track, and maximize your outcomes and efficacy.

Whether you’re setting your vision and mission for the first time, or seeking to re-up or realign your values with your impact after time or strain, we’re the team for you. We also specialize in vision-setting work as part of healing. Please get in touch to learn more.

Leading with Vision is available as a 1 to 3 day retreat or in 6 month+ consultancy. Rate set on a sliding scale depending on length, organizational budget, circumstance, and the complexity of your needs.

Past clients include: The Center for Government Excellence, New America DC, direct action teams
